Mural Competition hosted by Northwestern Mutual

   !!!   Opportunity for Artists   !!!

Mural Design Competition
hosted by Northwestern Mutual

Artists and designers with an eye for interpreting history and an entrepreneurial spirit are being sought for a mural to be created on the large conference room wall of Northwestern Mutual. The office building is on the square of York City and is a high traffic area. The conference room has large glass windows facing out onto the square. The winning piece will receive an abundance of exposure due to visibility from York’s Continental Square.

The Northwestern Mutual mural project seeks to bring history to life in an artistic expression. It’s not just to beautify the office, but also to tie in the self-starting spirit we have in York and to really pick up on the unique history of city. We are looking to have someone reach back and put up something iconic that relates to the history of York City.

  Please Provide

     1)  CONTACT COVER SHEET.  Please provide the artist’s name, address, telephone, e-mail, and a brief bio (< 200 words).  Please reference the project name (Northwestern Mutual Mural) on all correspondence, including envelopes.

     2) LETTER OF INTEREST, including a description of your approach to this project, and an overview of your concept for the Northwestern Mutual mural.

     3) RESUME of artist or for each artist if a team is submitting as well as samples of prior work the artist feels Northwestern Mutual should consider.

    4) DIGITAL IMAGES.  Via email (christian.wagman@nmfn.com ) or dropped off at the 48 E            Market St Ste. 3 office address.

The purpose of the wall is to beautify, inspire and express the city’s history, and Northwestern Mutual’s desire to nurture entrepreneurs. The mural will create something special for the company’s visitors and inspire those applicants that seek to start and develop their own financial futures.

We’re looking for someone to give their time and talents. The competition is not for a paid commission, but for a volunteer willing to work on the mural for the community, build their portfolio, and inspire those who are perusing an amazing career opportunity. Northwestern Mutual will cover the cost of the project and materials.  Northwestern Mutual will actively follows the mural process on social media outlets as well as making the contest know to the local media outlets for coverage opportunities and exposure for the artiest(s).
